A little about us!
| Why did we start Space Walk? Our number one reason for starting space walk, actually came from a well intended Walmart water slide! We had set it up at our church for a Bible School activity. The kids were having a blast! Some of the neighboring children came over to find out what was going on, and they came every day to attend Bible School! Well, at the end of Bible School, the oldest of the girls that had been coming all week, stood there in front of the church and accepted Jesus! James and I figured if just that little walmart water slide was the reason she came to church that week, and brought her to Jesus, what could we do with the real thing? We had completely figured that it was a few years of saving before we could actually do something like this! But I was going to try! I made the youth activity coordinator a promise that day. I would have the big ones for next year! James, of course was much less convinced! While I was researching inflatable's and insurance's, and the laws, an acquaintance I met through a forum on inflatable's told me about Space Walk. A national company, located in Kenner, LA that has a partnership program, allowing us to own our own inflatable company! Too good to be true, I was sure, but I talked to the company that August, within a month we were in business! I kept my promise to the youth leader. We received our first inflatable's October of 2005 and haven't stopped yet! We started with only four inflatables in 2005, and grew to 8 by the beginning of 2007, and we will be at almost 30 available in 2008! There are many days when I wish the "real" inflatable's were as easy to move as the 65lb walmart one we started with! Then there are the 20 hour days in the truck with our girls, and we are ready to collapse! The very next day a young birthday girl or boy will smile when we show up and we are re-energized and ready to go again! We are nonetheless thrilled to be a part of the Space Walk family! We have met so many wonderful people through Space Walk! |
